2 Neuro Nudges Network Community Connect Call

Neuro Nudges Network Community Call November 2024

Click here to watch on YouTube.

At this Neuro Nudges Network Community Connect call, we had members from across our global network, including: NZ, Vancouver, UK, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Belgium, Hong Kong and Tasmania.

We had a lively and engaging conversation, covering:

1. Introducing our new Members page, which includes all of the links divided into 3 categories: Neuroscience, Resources and the Neuro Nudges Network. This is the one stop shop for all of our links for our members: https://neuronudges.com/pages/members

2. Sharing and exploring our new resource: A Smarter Way to Prepare for Conversations. We did a live demonstration to support and explore a community member’s current coaching situation . Several additional resources were also suggested, including Marcus Buckingham’s Stand Out Strengths and a Brene Brown podcast.

3. Katherine shared her use of the Wheel of Life at a recent Riders and Elephants retreat.

4. Some ideas for new resources came up from our members including: an early stages of conflict tool, a tool to support how to collaborate as well as one that focuses on belonging. More to come as we look into developing these!

5. Our members shared that they are using NN as:
• “little lightbulbs” each day as reminders
• Pulling a section at a time to deep dive into that particular section
• Using a card at the end of a session as an inquiry
• Completing the Wheel of Life
• Choosing a random card during a coaching conversation to see what comes of it.

Another member suggested using the cards with a My User Manual exercise that Emily Webber has developed.

Overall there was much gratitude, connection, a feeling of belonging and as one member said, “community in action.”

Click here to watch on YouTube.

What a fabulous session. We talked about collective effervescence, the biology of social connection. How dogs use body odour to track time, and the neuroscience of handshakes. How do we build empathy online? And can AI be empathetic the answer is yes) and what does all that mean for coaching?

Truly fascinating - and worth a watch..

Neuro Nudges Network Community Connect Call April 2025

As always, a wonderful NNN session tonight.

We discussed the importance of anchoring new habits to existing routines and understanding the context in which behaviours emerge. We also explored the neuroscience of habits, sharing personal experiences and favourite habit-related cards, and discussed the challenges of habit formation, particularly for individuals with neurodiversity. The conversation ended with a discussion on the importance of changing behaviour rather than just providing knowledge when trying to create lasting change and the effectiveness of various strategies for habit formation.

Sarah shared a fascinating 2024 meta analysis: https://www.asc.upenn.edu/news-events/news/largest-quantitative-synthesis-date-reveals-what-predicts-human-behavior-and-how-change-it

We were reminded of the fabulous 3D brain app, WOOP (https://woopmylife.org), PINCH model and the TJ Powers DOSE effect.

We also shared the reflective tool: https://neuronudges.com/cdn/shop/files/take_a_moment.pdf?v=9987836345422404675

We know that it is the same brain networks that look back and also project forward, so, the art of looking back is a great tool to reflect, learn and build the architecture to support you going forward.

We talked about the neuroscience of fear.

We shared our reflections on 2024, what we are going to stop doing and what makes our heart skip for the year ahead..

A wonderfully reflective session that rounded out a beautiful year of the Neuro Nudges Network.
